Dasychira’s Hollywood Forever offers a dimension for the collective unconscious to escape into.

While under lockdown in Los Angeles last year, Dasychira frequently visited the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Walking from their apartment on Vine Street to Toto the Dog’s Memorial, they would step down streets paved with plaques of many lost stars. It felt ironic that these icons had spent most of their lives creating a memory of themselves that they wouldn’t even get to see.

Hollywood Forever ponders that if life were to last forever, there would be no reason to cement any type of legacy. In this age, everything feels limitless because of ubiquitous connectivity, but so finite due to the fragility of life. Perhaps, through imagination and memory, ghosts can live on in any timeline which they are conjured.

The mixtape explores fantasy elements surrounding the inevitability of death and the temporality of being.
